Nono: La lontananza nostalgica
EAC (APE & CUE) | Classical | 1 CD / 200 MB
_____________________

La lontananza nostalgica utopica futura (1988-89) is for 8-track tape mostly containing diverse pre-recorded and manipulated violin sounds (played by Arditti, manipulated by Nono), and a solo violin part. The solo violin interacts with the tape, yet to a certain extent it is up to the discretion of the performer at which moments the solo violin involves in an interaction with the tape. The violin sounds from the tape often sound as if coming from another world, due to their electronic manipulation. This is among the most extreme examples of textural music - the processes in the music almost may be experienced as changes within one "single" sound or soundscape - not unlike some of the late Stockhausen pieces (eg. the Electronic Music from Friday from Light or the Helicopter-string quartet). It appears that some people will go to extreme lengths to express their discontent on how certain uploaders handle their files. They have absolutely no regard for the time and effort spent by these uploaders in their efforts to secure their uploads but think only for their own convenience. Moreover, to accuse the uploader that one is having ''fun'' by engaging in a ''trick'' or a ''game'' is totally baseless and unjustified. It might be fun from the receiving end, but to those who extract and upload albums in lossless format out of their enthusiasm to share with like-minded people it's hardly considered fun, let alone a game. To such lame accusers, I would like to shout back: screw you, go buy your own music! But I won't, of course. At any rate, I'm happy to inform you that none of the uploaded files were deleted since the implementation of this so-called trick. But, hey, who knows...things can actually turn for the better in the future.

I hope that the laziness and ignorance of others does not disguise the fact that many of us are grateful for your unceasing efforts(even if sometimes I am guilty of not always saying thank you!)

Thank you!

@donjajust
If one has to acknowledge guilt for being carelessly stingy in one's compliments, I share the same fate. I'm not as mindful of the number of "thank you" posts I receive, after all the pleasure of sharing was mine to begin with, but I feel that there's absolutely no need for me to rationalize my actions on how I wish to share my music.

OK, I've worked hours on trying to get this file - Toast w/ no .bin files,
not being able to open the .cue file (other than just having a 48kb file with ???),
plus extensive totally unnecessary research into various forms of software
in order to crack this ridiculously convoluted mess, etc...
This whole thing is like telling someone from Dallas how great British Columbia is
and then sending them there by way of New York in a car that only makes right hand turns!
There's nothing like taking a simple procedure and
making a complicated mess out of it. Sheeeesh...

Thank you for the effort!

Hello peachfuzz!

I have no problem following more complicated ways of getting the music - after all I get a present here, and a wonderful one. It's just that I technically don't get it. You write I have to open the Cue file to find the ape-link. ?? With what program does one open a cue-file? When I put it into stuffit or xAct I dont see any links

Thanks for help - in the last 20 hours I got so much exciting stuff from you, that I'll have to study now. I really thank you for that (here once for all the downloadings I made). I especially appreciate your technique of multiple download opportunities - a good thing against too much RS monoculture!

I'd just be glad if you or someone else could explain this cue/ape proceeding so that even I can understand it.
Yours Gustav
